Game Description & Reviews:
I got this game when it came out and have played super smash games since then. this is without a doubt the best fighting series of all time, and each addition builds on the solid foundation this title created on the n64. behind ocarina of time, super mario 64 and rayman 2, this game is one of the best that ever came out on the system.
This is a really precious game, who don't ever wanted to put link fightin jiglypuff? Well maybe not much ever tought about it, but aside the ability to choose between various nintendo characters to fight it's great to play with ANY friend, i think you can say that you could even play with your mom since the controls are simple and easy to catch up. A must for playing parties.
An absolute Nintendo Classic using the ingenious creative skills of Hal Laboratory to create the best, most intensely action filled Nintendo Franchise yet. 5/5 All the way.
See where it all began for the Super Smash Bros series with the epic first installment. Of it's time the idea of a character mascot brawlfest seemed an unlikely success. The game went on to inspire the future of beat-em-up games for the future of gaming.
The series is praised for its addictive multiplayer offerings that allow just about anyone to pick up a control and play to their hearts desire. The game's premise is simple, but it makes for some ultimate gaming fun, a non-stop thrill ride, its future installments amplify all components to the max, but the 64 version remains an unforgettable classic.
If you have not played this game for yourself, I highly recommend it. This game, gets a 4 out of 5.
The later games in this series are much better than this one. The game play is choppy, there are only eight characters, and the graphics are horrible. At first when I remembered playing this game, I thought the only problem was the graphics. However, this is a sad game that had much better sequels.
This game was pretty good, but it got old very fast.
The reason I was so excited to try this game, and I still think this was it's neatest feature, was the fact that it was combining several series of games in one. Out of all the characters you have to choose from, there a little someone from almost everything. You've got Mario, Link, Pokemon, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and several others as well. It was super exciting to see them all in one game, but the game play itself gets old. You can only punch someone so many times.
The game basically is a constant fighting game. You can have up to four players and the object is to... Well, be the last one standing. I'd say about the first 15-20 times you play it is cool, but after that it starts to wear on you. I've also never been into fighting games that much, so it may just be that this game wasn't in the right genre for me.
All in all, the game looked cool on the surface, but just didn't end up being "all that".
What do you get when you throw together your favorite Nintendo characters and have them battle it out? I know that was a cheesy way of starting, but it is the only way I can explain this awesome game. With your favorite Nintendo characters you can fight your friends in this outrageous fighter game. Player with up to 12 characters and battle with up to 4 players. There has never been a fighter this rediculous and fun.
The game is fun.
But some people don't seem to get it. (Yes, I am referring to a person who reviewed this game! A person that can't even count, telling us there are only eight characters, while in fact there are twelve. I know, counting is hard.)
It's not about graphics. It's about remembering childhood in which some people have spent hours with Super Smash Bros.
Childhood was great!
Thumbs up, awesome game.
Playing it on my HTC Desire HD. (My classmates are really jealous ;) )
All Your favorite characters from Nintendo, fight in a battle royal. Choosing from many different characters and stages this game is a lot of fun
Super Smash Bros. will forever be a legendary franchise due to its outstanding gameplay. To the people have posted about this game having terrible graphics, please consider that this is on the Nintendo 64, of course the graphics aren't going to be as great. Regardless of the matter, Super Smash Bros. is one of the best games on the Nintendo 64 for its Multiplayer.
I still remember playing Super Smash Bros. with all of my friends when it first came out and we all had a great time. I suggest anybody who plays Super Smash Bros. to pickup Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl which are the sequels to this amazing game.
The original N64 predecessor to Nintendo's now-famous Smash Bros. series. While the Gamecube and Wii titles show much improvement upon the original, there is still much fun to be had with this game.
There's a multitude of characters available from the start, and a few others that can be unlocked by playing (or cheating :P).
One of the other reviewers, which signs himself as "PTJ" did the worst review of a game EVER,and made himself look like a dumbass.
First like first,he says: only 8 characters
there are 4 hidden characters, so that makes it 12 chars.
then he says: it had better sequels
no shit sherlock, the sequels were better, but they wouldnt even exist without this game in the first place
then he says: the graphics for this game sucks
the grpahics still hold up nowadays, its just you, also btw, graphics dont make a game
As the name suggests, this game is nothing less than Super. You play one of 8 characters from classic Nintendo franchises (with 4 more to unlock, making the total 12). You then have punch, kick, and smash your way through the other characters and take on challenges like boarding platforms and breaking targets to get to the evil overlord, Master Hand.
This game lacks story, not that it needs one. You'll be too bust kicking butt to care. And if you have any friends, they can join in as well with up to 4 people fighting each other. This game was unlike anything the world had ever seen.
5/5 for epic gameplay.
Smash it out with the original SUPER SMASH BROS!!!!!!! This game features 10 instantly available playable characters with more to unlock. Each character is unique so check em all out and don't forget all the modes and unlockable options you can have. Verse up to 4 Players, human or computer! Your preference. There's also heaps of levels and an in depth yet simple fighting system. Months of fun! Maybe even years. O.o
When you think of the greatest of all of the classic games out in one to fight each other to the death, what do you think of? Super Smash Bros.!!! ok so first off, notice that each character has a set of speacial moves, this is what makes each character unique and why everyone has a favorite. There are also other things, like thier speed and strength. The fact that there is and okay character selection makes it very good, but when you add maps for all of these very good games like Zelda, Mario, And Kirby you will have one of the best instant classics of all time, that is why I rated this game........ 5/5
Awesome. The game lacks any sort of story and has a small selection of characters, but the graphics are cool for their time, gameplay is the bomb, and also, it was a first attempt! Give points to Nintendo and HAL Laboratory for trying! However, lack of good character selection (something fixed in Melee and Brawl) and no story are bad. Also, the game is too darn short! After completing 1P Game with all characters, playing 50 VS. Matches on all of the stages, and completing Target Test and Board the Platforms with all the characters, you're DONE! Except for tournaments and more VS. Matches and crap like that. However, would you want to play hundreds of VS. Matches on this game? I wouldn't. All you can do after unlocking everything that doesn't get repetitive and boring is Sound Test, where you can play with the sounds and music and make a couple Youtube videos out of it. However, that gets boring too. 4/5, because of the repetitiveness. Anything but repetitiveness is good.
