Game Description & Reviews:
OverviewCharacters from popular Nintendo franchises meet up for the first time (and then duke it out) in this crossover fighting game by HAL.
Brandon rates this game: 5/5Super Smash Bros. will forever be a legendary franchise due to its outstanding gameplay. To the people have posted about this game having terrible graphics, please consider that this is on the Nintendo 64, of course the graphics aren't going to be as great. Regardless of the matter, Super Smash Bros. is one of the best games on the Nintendo 64 for its Multiplayer.
I still remember playing Super Smash Bros. with all of my friends when it first came out and we all had a great time. I suggest anybody who plays Super Smash Bros. to pickup Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl which are the sequels to this amazing game.
Brazil Rules rates this game: 5/5This is a really precious game, who don't ever wanted to put link fightin jiglypuff? Well maybe not much ever tought about it, but aside the ability to choose between various nintendo characters to fight it's great to play with ANY friend, i think you can say that you could even play with your mom since the controls are simple and easy to catch up. A must for playing parties.
Mystics Apprentice rates this game: 2/5This game was pretty good, but it got old very fast.
The reason I was so excited to try this game, and I still think this was it's neatest feature, was the fact that it was combining several series of games in one. Out of all the characters you have to choose from, there a little someone from almost everything. You've got Mario, Link, Pokemon, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and several others as well. It was super exciting to see them all in one game, but the game play itself gets old. You can only punch someone so many times.
The game basically is a constant fighting game. You can have up to four players and the object is to... Well, be the last one standing. I'd say about the first 15-20 times you play it is cool, but after that it starts to wear on you. I've also never been into fighting games that much, so it may just be that this game wasn't in the right genre for me.
All in all, the game looked cool on the surface, but just didn't end up being "all that".
72naruto72 rates this game: 5/5When you think of the greatest of all of the classic games out in one to fight each other to the death, what do you think of? Super Smash Bros.!!! ok so first off, notice that each character has a set of speacial moves, this is what makes each character unique and why everyone has a favorite. There are also other things, like thier speed and strength. The fact that there is and okay character selection makes it very good, but when you add maps for all of these very good games like Zelda, Mario, And Kirby you will have one of the best instant classics of all time, that is why I rated this game........ 5/5
ChaosMew161 rates this game: 4/5Awesome. The game lacks any sort of story and has a small selection of characters, but the graphics are cool for their time, gameplay is the bomb, and also, it was a first attempt! Give points to Nintendo and HAL Laboratory for trying! However, lack of good character selection (something fixed in Melee and Brawl) and no story are bad. Also, the game is too darn short! After completing 1P Game with all characters, playing 50 VS. Matches on all of the stages, and completing Target Test and Board the Platforms with all the characters, you're DONE! Except for tournaments and more VS. Matches and crap like that. However, would you want to play hundreds of VS. Matches on this game? I wouldn't. All you can do after unlocking everything that doesn't get repetitive and boring is Sound Test, where you can play with the sounds and music and make a couple Youtube videos out of it. However, that gets boring too. 4/5, because of the repetitiveness. Anything but repetitiveness is good.
