Gunboat (USA) ROM

Gunboat is a game that has you sitting in the seat of the captain or gunner of a gunboat. Both perspectives are in first-person and you can switch between the two during missions. The game puts you in the Vietnam War on a gunboat. You go through a series of missions throughout the campaign. You can customize who goes on your boat and what weapons you take along, such as a .30 minigun or a .50 gun. Being the gunner allows you to shoot at nearby targets and eliminating them with your gun, while an ai captain drives your ship around. Being the captain allows you to drive the ship around manually and tell the gunner when to shoot. There is a map of the location as well as mission briefing. The actually view is not very good. The gun in the gunner spot takes up the entire screen, and the captain has to look out a slit in the boat, which is fine. However, it is very chaotic with random explosions and sounds all over.

It is a fun simulation game, but is confusing to get into.
