Super Star Wars (USA) ROM

Super Star Wars is based on Star Wars, naturally. You fill the shoes of Luke Skywalker (and later Chewbaca and Han Solo) from your encounter with C3PO attempting to rescue R2D2 from a sandcrawler, up till the destruction of the Death Star. Its a side-scroller where you can freely switch between a gun, and a lightsaber. The combat is smooth, boss fights are challenging, the game has some length, and death is actually a bad thing. The music is great snes quality and is overall a great game.

This game is surprisingly well done for a movie-based game, so download it if you like Star Wars, or things with Super in the title.

The game itself isn't half-bad, but it didn't catch on for me. I couldn't get used to the controls, and being a heavy sidescroller and SNES player, I was surprised at how much I died just at the first level.
I've got to give it one thing, though; The music and graphics feel like I was actually in the movie, which is a heavy feat even for today's movie-based games.

A pretty good conversion of Star Wars, though some deviations from the movie (such as the sandcrawler level). Music and sound effects are authentic and well-rendered and the graphics are nicely done. Game does have quite a high difficult level--particularly the final stage--but fun enough to keep platform-lovers and Star Wars fan entertained. Recommended.
