OverviewThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is considered to be one of the greatest games of all time, due in large part to the seamless unity between traditional Zelda gameplay and the bold, artistic, 3D environment in which it is presented.
Stickgoncraz rates this game: 5/5If you haven't played Zelda - Ocarina of Time. Then your missing out, BIG TIME, there are alot of good games for the N64, but this is without a doubt, the best, maybe even the best game ever created. If all N64 games & emulators suddenly disappeared and this was the only 1 left, it would be worth downloading & playing. The controls would take a little getting used to, I recommend the emulator "Project64 1.7", it has all the cheats already in there, you can just pick which ones you want to play with, and if your not used to their controls, you can change them. Zelda - Ocarina of Time, might be very complicated if you've never played, or beaten it, but you can look up a walkthrough if you have no idea what to do. It has some of the greatest gameplay ever, from catching chickens, to auto aiming, and riding horses, to defeating "wierdly shaped" bosses. You can even editing how Link looks, in the cheat section, and also you can basically make it so you have everything from the start with cheats. But the overall game is amazing, good graphics (For A N64 Game), and the greatest gameplay ever. In the game you have to save Zelda from an evil force, whos name is Gandorf, and stop him from taking over the Zelda universe, with the help of your fairy Navi. You must get 3 "gems" and put them into a temple, or I guess the Hyrule church, and then pull the sword from the ground, and become an adult, which later you will find, that Hyrule has been destroyed and is enhabited with zombies. You must travel to dungeons with amazing gameplay to defeat Gandorf and other bosses. Overall, the gameplay is amazing and fun, a little complicated though, and then graphics are amazing in Zelda for the N64, and the bosses and enemies are interesting, and with the cheats, it can be alot easier and more fun. I recommend downloading this and playing it, even if you don't want an emulator, I recommend this, and if you have a N64 emulator, and not have this game, then download it NOW! It is worth it, completely. Trust me, it's Zelda...
PTJ rates this game: 5/5"Ocarina of Time" is the best "Legend of Zelda" game out there. Unable to put it to words, I will tell you that if you like puzzles you should download this game and find out for your self.
LOZOOT1337 rates this game: 5/5Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time is often acronymed (LOT - OOT). It has been one of the best games ever made, even the Classic Zelda games are still being played! If you have loved the Classic, then you will love this! First of all, Download Project 1.6 or 1.7. Then after that Download this game immediately, I promise you wont regret it. Lastly, Play! You will not regret downloading this ROM. One of the best games can be played on your PC! The game is not modified, unless YOU! Modify it.. with cheats! There are cheats and you can levitate, change tunic color and boots, etc. This makes the game more fun.. if you have beaten the game already. Play this game with Project 1.6 - 1.7 and you will have good times with Cheats and playing the game without cheats. You will not stop playing (I hope.) and you will love it until this game is forgotten.. hopefully not. What a good game.
A Zelda Fan rates this game: 5/5The timeless, epic adventure of a young, fairy-less boy from Kokiri Forest. With a sword and sheild in hand, Link travels across the vast land of Hyrule on foot, by horse, and even across time! Save Zelda and all the world through many dungeons, puzzles, and magnificent boss battles. A must for any N64 fan and Zelda enthusiast.
Caboose0426 rates this game: 5/5I have played this game so many times, that I know everything that is said in the entire game, but I still can't stop playing it. Up until Twilight Princess, it was the best videogame ever made!!! If you have nothing to do, then download this game and play it right away. You'll be so hooked, that you won't stop until you beat it three times over.
SushiBrawl rates this game: 5/5When this game came out on the N64, it blew away my expectations. It still stands today as one of my favorite single player games of all time. You play as a young Kokori boy named Link who is destined to become the hero of time and defeat the evil Ganondorf. Along the way, you must clear dungeons which are full of monsters, exploring and puzzles. You will be armed with a ton of weapons which add to the experience and not to mention the gigantic world of Hyrule you have to explore. This game is a defenite get and I suggest you start playing this game now. 5/5
Justin rates this game: 5/5The Legend of Zelda is such a famous game that I don't think to many need to be assured its good. However if your new to the series or have never played Ocarina of time I can tell you this is for sure you need to play this game. Ocarina of time was one of the first games ever to alow the player to control camera movements using the "Z"-button targeting system, this in turn makes for better gameplay.
Ocarina of time is the only Zelda game in wich you play as young link and mature into adult, and it is also the first to use musical melodies as part of the gameplay. The characters in this game are very memerable even those who apear only once in the entire game. The only way I can summerize this game is as the best Zelda game ever.
Legend of zelda, The rates this game: 5/5This game is about a Korkiri boy named link. Who has no fairy while the other Korkiri children. The Korkiri children are watched over by a great old tree called "the great Deku tree." The great Deku tree sends a fairy over to the hut where the hero, Link lives. He is then woken up and told he is to see the great deku tree as soon as possible. After he makes his way there he learns about the future of Hyrule and how he must become a great hero and rid Hyrule of all evil that resides in it. The fate of Hyrule is up to one boy, can he save the day?
Vashon Bailey rates this game: 5/5The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time, in my opinion, is the most greatest game to be put on the Nintendo 64. It has great graphics and the gameplay is outstanding. Im sure you'll love this game after a second of playing it!!
72naruto72 rates this game: 5/5This is a great game and is very entertaining and fun. Considering it has so many things that you can do, I rated this game 5/5. The game itself has a long amount of gameplay and these were very good graphics in 1998, (the year it cam out for Nintendo 64). Nintendo was very detailed with what happens in the game, fo instance if you don't touch any buttons for a while then he will yawn and shake his arms exactly like a normal kid would. The music in this song is also very nice, and you can listen to different ones when you want. "The Legend of Zelda", has always had a great set of music, but The Ocarinia of Time, in my opinion, has the best. The way the had the combat was also very detailed to, The amount of weapons posiible is greater than any "Legend of Zelda" title before that. If you liked my description I encourage you to post one of your own.
Achreequa rates this game: 5/5If you've played any other RPG kind of game, this one will blow all of them out of the water. If you were to try this, even on the emulator, you wont ever be able to put it down. In my opinion, this was the best game I have ever played.
Brendoge rates this game: 5/5Before you get yours hands on the 3DS remake, go back to where it all began with The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time on the N64. It was a stunning revolution in gaming excellence under story and gameplay. The graphics were beautifully integrated - a masterpiece in gaming history 101.
Play as Link the hero of Hyrule setting out on an adventure he was born to follow. Discover new locations and items. Investigate the darkest of underground temples. Advance through time and bring justice to the land. Your goal is to thwart the evil king Ganondorf.
This is a game that hasn't diminished it quality, only quantity - because we all keep coming back for more. Check it out here today!
mitchweaver1 says:The quintessential Zelda experience. If A Link to the Past didn't already pull you into this universe, Ocarina of Time certainly did. One of the most memorable games of all time.
NinjaPooff rates this game: 5/5ISSUES: If you are using Project 64, the soft dirt patches wont be visible on the ground, the road surrounding Lon Lon Ranch wont be visible, the game will freeze when you try to reenter Kokiri Village after going Left to meet the Skull Kid in lost woods, and lastly, in the Forest Temple right when you enter the main hallway if you go straight across and up the stairs into the room with the Stalfos, it was freeze right after the door shuts you in. A text box will pop up saying "Failed to load word. check ROM and ROM Settings".
Sargon The Knight says:Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is a best game as it has a fabulous story and nice 3D graphics. It is the first 3d Zelda game released in 1998, developed by Nintendo.
In this game the ocarina plays a great role as the entire game has a great role in it and also Master sword, which just sends the Hero Link to future about seven years forward.
The storyline is like this as the three goddesses create this world and when they flew away through sky it creates three triforce. These triforce hold the Power, Wisdom and Courage. The evil sorceror Ganon stole the triforce of power and Zelda the princess holds the triforce of wisdom and link holds the triforce power of courage. The evil lord ganon just tries to get all these power to rule over the world but here the seven sages have to shut and seal him inside a realm, for which they need a hero Link to save Hyrule.
LoZ Fan rates this game: 5/5The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was my first venture into The Legend of Zelda franchise and I have yet to step foot out of it. This truly is the best Legend of Zelda game ever, there are some that come close but this will always be the very best.
Mega Man Retro Gamer rates this game: 5/5Oh The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, this considered to be one of the fan favorites of the series and not just a fan fav, also considered to be the best game of all time, this game is a true 3D environment and this is franchise's first jump to 3D and it became a fan favorite so QUICKLY, damn that's surprising, and besides every popular franchise that made the first jump to 3D is a fan fav, for instance, Super Mario 64, the plumber's first jump to 3D and that is a masterpiece and look at Sonic Adventure 1 that is a Sonic fan favorite and also liked by Sega fanboys, too, but I'm a Nintendo fanboy so I like Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64. Ahh, Nintendo, you are also a game developer pop star right up there with Capcom, but Ocarina of Time though I give it a 10/10 this game is awesome, a must have for the N64.
The Hero of Time rates this game: 4/5Meet Link, a young Kokiri boy, the only Kokiri without a fairy. His adventures start as he defeats the evil Gohma. Guide Link through his quest as he awakens the sages to defeat the evil Ganondorf!
MdogGamer117 rates this game: 5/5This game is very awesome. The main quest is very suspenseful and full of twists and turns. This game has many side quests that will keep you playing after you beat the main story. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of the best games I've played on the N64 emulator.
Baffou rates this game: 5/5Probably one of the best game ever made.
No matter how many times you finished it,
you can easily return on it with the same magic you had when you played for the first time.
If you haven't played this game before.... You know what to do !!
Holk rates this game: 3/5As someone who has been playing Zelda games since the original was released on the NES, I feel like I know the series well. That said, The Ocarina of Time is a good game. It isn't the best game ever made, and it isn't even the best Zelda game.
Ocarina suffers from what I call "Final Fantasy VII Disorder". This is when a game in a series is the first that many people played. Since the series in general is well-made, people usually have fond memories of the game that introduced them to said series.
Ocarina has many great things going for it. The dungeons are vast, and boss battles amount to the sum of the skills you've been practicing throughout those dungeons. The game's simple mechanics work so well together that the game is more than the sum of its parts.
It does, however, suffer from the same thing that most games of this nature do. The camera gets in the way, box-pushing puzzles abound, etc.
The game is good, yes, but it isn't perfect. No game is. It is a fun diversion that will last you a few hours. Its just another example of over-hyping. If you like it, I recommend playing A Link to the Past and The Wind Waker.
Zelda rates this game: 5/5This is one of the best RPG games ever made by Nintendo, and it also has the best story of all N64 games.
Deco rates this game: 5/5Ocarina of Time, until recently the best Zelda title created. The story focuses on Link, a boy from the forest who recieves a fairy guardian one day, and a message. His quest sent him through time more than once, collecting weapons and gagets from many dungeons to face the evil Ganondorf.
The story is very well told, and any fan should get this game to refresh on the story while waiting for the new 3DS port.
Jay rates this game: 4/5This particular Zelda game has been my favourite since I was little. It always keeps you entertained. For all the years I've played it, never a bored moment.
Game Hunter III rates this game: 5/5Pretty sweet game. One of the most legendary game ever made, in my opinion. For the most part, it's a puzzle solving game with a few fights along the way to keep you entertained. You play as "Link" (or whatever you choose to name yourself) and set about saving the world, as the usual in games. What makes this game interesting is it's (spoilers, look away) Time traveling feature. You can travel to before evil took over, and after evil took over and set things up for yourself in the past for the future. And remember, if you ever get stuck, you can always cheat by looking up F.A.Q.s online. Which if you've never played a Zelda game, you probably will.
Mystic Apprentice rates this game: 5/5This is without a doubt the best Legend of Zelda, and possibly the best game for the N64, ever made.
I had come from playing A Link to the Past before trying out The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and I was amazed.
The game play is amazing. You start out as Link as a child, and unlike RPG games, it is all action so it takes more than strategizing to make your way through this game. All the sword fights have to be done by the player, unlike the final fantasy series where you simply choose an attack from the menu.
All of the dungeons and towns in Zelda are unique, meaning that it's not the same town over and over again, only with a new name and a different color scheme ;) Each place is quite memorable with it's own set of characters and landmark distinctions. It was nice because they incorporated bits of the older Zelda games into this one, yet it was a totally new, refreshing story.
This game gets hard fast. It would seem almost impossible to get through some places without a strategy guide. So you might want to turn around and buy one the moment you get the game to save yourself hours of frustration stuck in a dungeon, at least to reference with on occasion. But don't let that turn you off, the game is absolutely amazing and blows all the other Zelda titles away!
Brazil Rules rates this game: 5/5This is one of those game that don't go away from our minds, it was a huge breakthrough like other games for the N64 because it turned a series well known and loved by adding one more dimension, the third. Many people complain that this one broke the Zelda series because it should be top view, but letting beside fanboy -ish complains this is one master piece from nintendo and really stays true to the series. A must for who never played.
michaelpucacco rates this game: 5/5Its an adventure role playing game where Link is the hero of time.
