Quake (1996)(Id Software) Game

Most awsome shooter, EVER! This game is filled with Bad-Ass! you are a war-hardend marine (sound familiar?) who is the only survivor of a scientific experiment of molecular movement gone horribly wrong! (yup... familiar, anyone?)
It's not the story that makes it so great, but the way it is portrayed. the graphics are beyong amazing, and all of the twitchy animations somehow make it better. the enemies are vicious, blood-thirsty beasts that don't let up until they are all dead. the level design is variable, as you go from machanical instalations to dark and brooding underworld dungeons and more sophisticated castles, designed specificly to be as dangerous as possible. the combat is realisticly balanced, as cockyness and carelessness WILL kill you, make no mistake, as the beasts are out for blood. also the hazzards in the levels are just as deadly, don't fall in the lava, and watch out for spikes, moving or otherwise.
Some call it "Doom Redone", and though I agree with that, I support the idea and wish they would just redo quake, this one, not quake 2, because it sucks. really, it's not creepy, it's just smoother and more polished...
I reccomend burning a music CD, google search "trent reznor quake soundtrack" have all the tracks in order, but place one in front fo them all, either empty or a favorite song (Nine inch nails is apropriate)
overall, best first-person shooter ever! 'nuff said.
