Cabal (USA) ROM

Cabal is an arcade shooter that doesn't play very well on NES, in my opinion.

Controls are odd. Directional pad moves both your character and your sight/targeting reticle. When not shooting, your reticle barely moves but when shooting, the character is locked into position and the d-pad only moves the sight.

Sound and graphics are average and passable.

Gameplay is all about shooting down the baddies from behind your quickly crumbling barricade walls. Little green men and little green tanks with guns rain bullets down and your job is to bullet-rain them harder and not die. There appear to be at least two types of weapons. It didn't really get deeper than that.

I think what made the short playthrough worthwhile was the awesome animation at the end of a level. Something straight out of a Looney Tunes cartoon.
