Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - Pool of Radiance (USA) ROM

Pool of Radiance is a fairly accurate port of the PC title of the same name. The first of what is now the legendary "gold box" series of RPGs, POR sports an unusual combination of an isometric perspective for battles and a first-person view while exploring dungeons, etc - the latter would eventually become a genre staple for many other games including The Bard's Tale series, Eye of the Beholder, and Unlimited Adventures.

It is also interesting to note that POR was released on the NES a year after the fourth and final installment of the series (Pool of Darkness) launched on various PC platforms. One can assume this was an attempt to bolster sales, since at the time home PC prices were outside the reach of most people, and the NES provided a more reasonable alternative.
