OverviewOff-World Interceptor is a vehicular combat game originally released for the 3DO, however another version was later released for the Sony Playstation and Sega Saturn.
TesseractE rates this game: 3/5The Gameplay is a shoddy top-down-scrolling sort of setup, the physics are rotten - even for a 1st gen PSX game. Why would anyone want to play this, much less laud it to others?
The crappy live-action cutscenes.
No. Really.
You get the impression that Crystal Dynamics looked at this turd they'd lain and tried to come up with something at the last moment to redeem it. One of them must have been a fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000, because their solution was self-mockery.
During the cutscenes, you see the shadow of two guys on a couch sitting in front of the 'screen', poking fun at the terrible acting and cliched lines.
Gimmick? Yeah. But it works. You ACTUALLY want to finish this game, just so you can see all the wisecracks.
Try it for yourself... but find some cheat codes first so the gameplay can go by with as little trouble as possible.
