Steambot Chronicles starts with a quiz of personality and answering these questions affect the personality of the character and how others will react towards him. After the quiz, a cutscene ensues with a young male named Vanilla waking up on the shore of Seagull Beach with; An optimistic girl named Coriander beside him, and a case of amnesia due to a shipwreck nearby that occurred before the start of the game. The player learns that Connie is picking herbs for her deathly ill mother, Rosemary, in which immediately afterward, Vanilla spots a vehicle on a nearby cliff that is equipped with a long-range cannon, trapping the two in Seagull Beach. It is inferred that Coriander is using the herbs as medicine for her mother. End scene.
