ArdeusQB rates this game: 5/5Card game set in the Yu-Gi-Oh GX series. In it you attend Duel Academy as a student of the school starting out in Slifer Red. The game itself seems to be a prelude to the Tag Force series as the main goal is to befriend fellow duelists in an effort to find a good partner for the tag tournament held on the last day of school (90 days total).
Much like in the GBA game Yugioh GX Duel Academy, you can attend classes, take tests in the form of mini games to go up in ranks, trigger specific events for each main character, and duel for DP (Duel Points) which you can spend at the store for card packs. The store has differing packs available depending on the in game day and certain events and classes start at specific in game times so time management is a thing but since there are only a few actions that progress time it may not be an issue to you. There's also an element of dialogue choice and character relationships so be prepared. The games POV is an isometric sort of birds eye view with fixed camera angles.
Beginning Advice: Try to beat someone and immediately go for better trap/spell packs & balance out between the effect monster pack and the elemental pack of your choice. Your first few duels are going to be harsh because the starter deck isn't good at all compared to what even the standard copy paste NPCs are running around with (fully functional lock & burn decks, cards too strong for where you are at the moment, 4* mons with 1800+ stats while you only have ones with 1200). Just keep on and eventually you'll win one. Or if you're really lucky you'll get a random 1000 DP from the chancellor for free.
TL;DR
Like a fusion of Duel Academy and Tag Force series, and is surprisingly better than both in my opinion. Starter deck is garbo compared to everyone else's starter decks.
