Introduction: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is a long awaited PC game that dazzled eyes and ears at it's showing during E3. Medal of Honor is a FPS that takes place during World War II. You take control of Lieutenant Mike Powel of the U.S. Army, fighting Nazis and battling in authentic WWII scenarios.

Review: To be honest, MOHAA is one of the best games I have ever played on any platform. The game really needs it's high system requirements to shine. The graphics are beautiful and contain great detail. The environments are extremely large and are well mapped. You really feel like your fighting in WWII.

The gameplay of this game is similar to most FPS's. You aim, fire, and rotate with the mouse, move with the keyboard. The game places you in scenarios where you work alone as an American spy, finding information on new Nazi weapons and tanks etc. Other times you are placed on a team, as the leader or just a teammate. The game really makes you feel as if you are fighting with others. This is alo where the games flaws start to kick in. It is easy to see that the game is programmed to be the same every time. It is easy to tell when a soldier is supposed to die and when their not. Your partner can be shot at and take hits the whole time, but suddenly he'll get shot and die, and when you play through the game again, he'll die at the same point. But this can be overlooked. The gameplay really shines in the D-day level. If you've ever seen Saving Private Ryan, this game perfectly simulates the Omaha Beach invasion. From bullets flying around, to invading the bunkers, this level is by far one of the best events in gaming in a long time.

The graphics in MOHAA are amazing. This is truly a beautiful game. The game contains thousands of textures. There are a large array of different Nazi soldiers, and each are used appropriately. You can easily tell who are the soldiers, and who are the generals. The game has great lighting effects. The shining spotlights highlight all the textures as they search for you in the night. The usage between night and day, really fit in well with the environment and what your supposed to accomplish. The guns in your inventory are authentic to real WWII guns and they look nearly identical. Once you get used to the way the game plays, the graphics make it feel like your really there due to the amazing detail.

Conclusion: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is definitely a game you should check out if you can handle the system requirements. Even after you've completed the game, the online play is a whole other experience. You can play in a variety of gameplay modes, choosing whether your with the Allies or the Axis. This game just is a complete package, deserving of a 5 rating.
