Marvelous - Mouhitotsu no Takarajima (Japan) ROM

Marvelous: Mouhitotsu no Takarajima (Marvelous: Another Treasure Island) is a Japanese style adventure game developed by Nintendo R&D 2 and is the first game designed by Legend of Zelda series director, producer and paragon of awesome Eiji Aonuma. The game mixes the Legend of Zelda's exploration elements with a point and click interface for puzzle solving and various interactions. The game stars three 12 year old boys: Dion, Max, and Jack who are on a field trip with their class on an island that is rumoured to house legendary pirate Captain Maverick's treasure known as "Marvelous". During their stay a group of pirates led by King Bull arrive on the island on the hunt for Captain Maverick's treasure. The pirates abduct the group's teacher Ms. Gina leaving Dion, Max, and Jack on a quest to save her and uncover the secrets behind Marvelous. Note: that the game is heavy with Japanese text. The game is perfectly playable and enjoyable using a guide that can be found in Gamefaqs.com Short review: Marvelous is an absolutely lovely game. There's a real feel of adventure that is never pretentious and is always full of charm. The puzzles can occasionally frustrate due to the large size of some of the levels, but the majority is very well done. Everything is highlighted by the game's lovely music. It's a timeless hidden gem. and one of the best games that were never released outside of Japan.
