ponut64 rates this game: 3/5This is Duke Nukem 3D. You play as Duke. He shoots the aliens and is never afraid of anything. The aliens of course are trying to steal all of Earth's babes and use them as breeding chambers for Octobrains and that makes Duke very angry, because he loves babes. So much if he meets some random chick on his quest to save them he is more than happy to throw money at them. Sometimes they shake their bare tits at Duke in response. Are they disgusted? Happy? Scared? We don't know, until the end, when Duke has sex. Off-camera of course.
But sometimes Duke finds the cocooned babes and has to end their suffering. Sad, in this version of Duke, you cannot save the babes. You are notified that eliminating the cocooned babes is a good thing to do since more aliens will come to fight you if you do.
I can't tell how edited it is from the original, since I haven't played it in awhile, but the weapons seem the same... mostly.. if not for one little issue.
I played this on a real Saturn using a burned disc. I disclose this because it may have something to do with this.
There is just something... "off" about Duke on the Saturn. Some of his voice lines do not playback at the correct speed. There is some strange input lag that crops up from time to time, that does not seem to be related to FPS. The FPS is relatively stable for a 5th generation game. Also the soundtrack is mostly awful. There are a few good Duke tracks in there but most of it is just discordant ambiance.
Also if you go underwater, you're gonna hear cranium-piercing bubble noises ALL. THE. TIME.
There are 4 chapters, so the game does not include any of the expansions and still ends with Duke saying he will be back in action real soon. We all know how that went...
