Psycho Chaser (Japan) ROM

Psycho Chaser is a vertically scrolling shooter where players take control of an armored hero to shoot down enemies. The game is slightly unique aesthetically as the player controls a character running on the ground shooting enemies hovering around them as opposed to most games in this genre that involve controlling some kind of aircraft, but this does not change how the game ultimately plays. There are pickups and so on as you would expect and the game has full eight way movement. The main feature of this game that sets it apart from other scrolling shooters is that the player obtains psycho energy after each boss fight that they can spend on stats that permanently upgrade their character throughout the game.
