Magical Chase (Japan) ROM

Magical Chase is a side scrolling shooter very similar to Graduis. An evil witch's apprentice, Ripple has disobeyed her mentor and read a forbidden magical tome and released 6 monsters into the world. It is Ripple's charge (along with her star friends Topsy and Turvy) to defeat and once again imprison the monsters. Ripple is given further incentive because if she fails, her mentor will turn her into an ugly frog forever.

Game play can become quite challenging even on easy, but the cartoon style, multiple power-ups and shops that appear along the way make things a bit more bearable. (Ripple uses gems that look like soda cans as money to purchase a variety of helpful items) each stage has a Mid-Boss (For which the stage is named after) and a Main Boss (one of the 6 monsters) that must be defeated to continue on.

Fans of the genre will have a much easier time with this one, but gamers of any skill level can pick this one up and have a lot of fun
