Kenani rates this game: 5/5A very strange game based on a very strange T.V. series that I believe started in the sixties, you help Uncle Fester a weird individual save the town, if I remember correctly, it's full of very weird creatures and great excitement for the player, but it's pretty stinking tough, but for strange individuals such as me it's a really fun game, is your weirdness ready for a whole lot of weird?
rbx4 rates this game: 3/5Fester's Quest is one of those rare times that you find a game based on licensed properties that is actually better than average. This game is definitely no Zelda, but it has some decent aspects. The drawbacks include enemies that can reappear immediatley after you kill them, if the screen scrolls over that spot again. Your shooter is also very weak and awkward. I believe that you it may be intended for you to kill enemies for a while as a means of farming resources. Still, the gameplay is not annoying, and Fester is of course fun.
Knirps rates this game: 1/5The first in a series of games modeled after the iconic Addams Family TV shows and movies, this game follows the creepy and awkward Uncle Fester as he ventures through town to destroy invading aliens in an adventure-type game.
Controls were blocky and rigid. The game is top down and has strict 'lines of sight' and tight hit boxes for many enemies meaning if you didn't line up the shot, you'd miss. Most of the challenge in the game relied on this mechanic and swiftly moving enemies.
The sound during the game was forgettable but not annoying. The remix of the theme song at the title screen was great and made me think the rest of the game would have good sound effects.
Graphics were pretty crisp and detailed regarding enemies but the world was bland and boring.
Gameplay overall wasn't fun, in my opinion. I kept getting the same gun which produced a 'wave' effect and was frustrating to line up to actually hit enemies. I was hit by bees no matter what I tried and the slowing effect never wore off and I didn't find anything to make it go away. Combining the terrible gun with terrible tiny hitboxes and awkward controls, the sewers were a nightmare.
Overall, I did not enjoy this game and wouldn't recommend it.
Bloodblade07 rates this game: 3/5Not a bad game. Well if you don't compare the game to any other games. There's a few gun upgrades, bulbs, vice grips, keys, potions, missiles, nooses (for all your suicidal needs) and not much more. Aliens invaded new york and uncle fester needs to save the day. It depends on what type of games you like I guess.
