3-D Battles of World Runner, The (USA) ROM

3-D Worldrunner is a rather obvious Space Harrier clone. It features some innovative graphics for its time, and is a forward-scrolling obstacle course with a boss fight after every 4 levels. The main problem is that it really not necessarily fun. You cannot always see how wide a pit is before you try to jump it, and 1 touch from most enemies will kill. There is some challenge involved in trying to memorize how long one must hold down the jump button or what pattern the enemies will exhibit, but it is highly unlikely that players will have fun in this process. It was best when compared to very primitive games of its time, but even then it was not among the best games available to console players.

Just like a modern day RUNNER. This game has a progressively moving screen with a static backdrop. You control a little fellow that can jump over large pits. It's not a very sophisticated game.

3-D World Runner was one of those games I hated to play, but I wanted to play all the time. It was like a brain game. I feel like I dedicated half of my childhood brain-space to memorizing this game. Fortunately, all that has been rewritten with useful things and better games, and I can see 3-D World Runner for what it really is...a very, very annoying game.

Do you want to run around the world? Do you?!? Well now you can do it in 3-D!! Whoa, Ooh, Cool!

I don't know why I enjoyed playing this, even though all you do is dodge balls with weird faces and jump over big giant voids of death. But if you're into weird stuff then go ahead and download this game :D
