You're just an average out-of-work kid in an average rural town plagued by monsters and forsaken by the kingdom because they're too busy fighting their own monsters. Things aren't hopeless, but they are looking kind of bleak...
Until you trip over a magical talking shovel and thus are chosen to do something about the whole "monster infestation" issue.
Master of the Monster Lair is a really fun and different game, part creation sim and part dungeon crawler. You play as a villager stuck with the task of building dungeons, both to attract the local monster populations away from your home, and to draw adventurers to your home to boost tourism. Each day you go out and modify your dungeon a little, digging new paths, throwing in monster dens and treasure chets, and eventually expanding multiple floors. You can also traverse your own dungeon and battle the fiends that lie within.
There's plenty to do in MotML, and if it sounds like fun to you, it probably will be!
