Game Description & Reviews:
OverviewOriginally released on the N64 and Dreamcast, this Treasure franchise is getting a second life on the DS.
Sloshy rates this game: 4/5Bangai-O Spirits is the sequel to the cult classic Dreamcast/N64 by Treasure, a development studio known for their quality shooting games. If you've never played Bangai-O before, basically you're a mech (human-controlled robot) that flies around and shoots things in a 2D plane. The draw of this game, rather than being a linear shooter like most, has you flying around a static level with staticly placed enemies and blocks. The levels are designed just so they're completely customizable, and you can make your own levels to share with friends. The levels are shared not over Wi-Fi, but through sound clips; yes, sound clips. The game has a variety of weapons as well as 160 different levels to play through. Because of the simple, editable nature of the game, the levels are unfortunately rather small and there's no real urge to beat them besides the fun factor. Regardless, it's very fun sometimes and can leave you trying for days to beat the same tough challenge!
