Game Description & Reviews:
Also Known as Pikachu Genki Dechu.
Another spin-off Pokemon game with a very specific, small niche.
If you like yelling at your TV screen for hours on end and basically watching a squirrel's life with a Pikachu costume on, this is the game for you. I honestly wouldn't recommend this game for a child as they would just get frustrated. It holds your attention for a little bit as you explore, but it quickly loses its charm.
If you're a serious Pokemon lover, this title is worth playing just to add it to your Pokemon experiences.
I often wondered what life would be if pokemon really existed in the real world? Just imagine for a second. It would be freaking awesome! Obviously that’s not going to happen, but as close as we can get is a game called Hey You, Pikachu for the Nintendo 64. A game that allowed interacting with everybody’s favorite pokemon like never before, but what I didn’t know was that Hey You, Pikachu wasn’t nearly as fun as I though.
Pikachu is an idiot. I gave him a simple command, tried to help with some tasks…he doesn’t listen. He never listens. You can’t help but feel like Hey you, Pikachu is a point and click game, but it does most of the pointing for you. It’s THAT straightforward. So, naturally, the only next logical step was to abuse pikachu’s comprehension skills. And insult him! “You are the disgrace of your species and nobody likes you”. But you know? I think pikachu really does listen to you when you insult him. Even when you think he is not.
And yet again, I come to the conclusion that voice-controlled games don’t work that well. I understand Hey You, Pikachu was targeted to younger children, but honestly I had more fun messing with Seaman, on the Dreamcast, a game in the same style. Seaman was weird. Pikachu is incompetent. Definitely I’m going to give the voice-control victory to Sega’s Seaman. Microsoft, it’s your turn. Oh yes, Project Milo was cancelled? Never mind.
