A new really powerful way to browse games!
Posted by MasJ @ Thu, 31 Oct 2013 | Message Boards

Today is a great day in EP History! Why ? Well, I've just finished working on the Advanced ROM Browser.

So what exactly is this thing ?

Well, it's a brand new, extremely powerful and flexible way for you to browse our games. Say you want to look at all RPGs released on the SNES and Genesis in the US sorted by their user ratings. You can!

Or for example, you want to see all the games on Emuparadise that are rated by the ESRB as suited for Everyone, and are for PS2, sorted by their popularity i.e. Number of Downloads. We got that covered!

What if you wanted to see the highest rated driving/racing games released on either the Gameboy or Gameboy Color ? We have that for you too!

The Advanced ROM Browser will let you find games in a MILLION different ways! You can filter by System, Genre, Region, Starting Letter, Safety Rating, and then order your results by Name, Downloads or Ratings!

Check it out! We hope you enjoy this brand new way of finding your games!

Oh, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN :)

Think of the children!

For all those folks who were like .. "Hmm.. This Conker fella sure looks like a cute little dude, I bet my kids would love him!" - STOP! We now have rating advisory information :) Of course, if you'd still like your kids to play Conker's Bad Fur Day (we recommend it!) then you're welcome to! So what's this all about ?

Now, on several game pages around the site you will find rating information for the games. This means that you can make an informed choice about whether you should be playing that game with/in front of your kids or in public places - depending on the game ;) No more "Mommy! The squirrel said a bad word!"

For example, Conker's Bad Fur Day says right at the top of the page: Rating: OFLC: M15+, ESRB: M

You decide what that means to you, we're just adding more info to help ya'll out :D

Region selectors for the soul!
Posted by MasJ @ Thu, 24 Oct 2013 | Message Boards

Here's another improvement that our users have been asking for! This time it's pesky little region selectors that will show up on both, game listing pages by letter as well as game listing pages by genre!

So what can you do with this ?

Well, say you're only interested in Nintendo DS RPGs that include Spanish as a language option. You could go and see RPG ROMs for NDS and then click on "Europe" under the region filter. Most European releases will include Spanish as a language! You could do the same for US releases or Korean or Chinese, whatever you please - well, you get the idea!

Hope you enjoy the new feature, for reference, it's going to look like this:

Similar Games - Don't stop playing!
Posted by MasJ @ Tue, 22 Oct 2013 | Message Boards

Another new feature comes to Emuparadise on the same day as we unleashed the Genre browsing capability! On game information pages you can now see a pretty great list of similar games for each game that you view. The lists span multiple genres and consoles and work to bring the best of retro gaming to you!

You can click on any item under Similar Games to see all the different versions (on different consoles) of the game that we carry. Click on any version to grab it from it's download page!

With emuparadise, you never have to stop playing!

We'll be adding more Similar Games to every game page over the coming week to give you the best possible recommendations!

Genre browsing now available!
Posted by MasJ @ Tue, 22 Oct 2013 | Message Boards

I've been hard at work over the entire weekend to bring you this awesome new addition to the site! It's still being worked out but we can now help you browse games by their genres! Genre based browsing is ready for several consoles and we're adding more every minute! Right now, you can browse games for the following consoles by genre: N64, PS1, DC, PS2, Saturn, GBA, DS, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD.

Update: Added genre based browsing to another 8 systems: Gamecube, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, NES, PSP, Gamegear, Master System, and the PSX2PSP eboots secton!

The process is pretty simple, we'll explain with pictures!

Just click on the link to see genre categories

Choose from any one of our extensive categories

If you want to see more games like the one you're looking at, click on its genre!

We have a ton of genres that games are filtered by and you should now be able to select your favorite categories, like RPGs on GBA and browse them!

Hope you enjoy the new addition, more systems and even more features coming soon!
