OverviewThe King of Fighters '96 is the third installment of the King of Fighters series, featuring new gameplay mechanics, changes in the roster, and a new story involving Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, and the power of the demon Orochi.

The King of Fighters 96 has 27 regular characters and 2 characters heads (which can be unlocked using a code). Newcomers to the tournament include Mr. Big in the series Art of Fighting, the heads of Fatal Fury Wolfgang Krauser and Geese Howard, and completely original characters like Leona Heidern, Mature and Vice. Other inherited characteristics from the previous year include the ability to choose the mode default Fighting Team or traditional style Single Fighter, more the Versus and survival mode.
