wyndeline rates this game: 3/5You are a famous American detective. Your old friend Tamara has written to you about her new fiance, a Cornish Lord. His ancestral home is perched on the wind swept coasts of Cornwall, full of antiques, British hospitality, and ghosts. Enclosed is a tourist pamphlet for the old fortress, a detailed map of the grounds, and a book. This book details local ghostly legends, including the White Lady which is said to haunt Trysillian Castle where Tamara now lives.
An urgent letter from your friend summons you to Cornwall. Tamara thinks the White Lady is trying to kill her!
It is up to you to interrogate suspects, locate a lost treasure (not sure how that's supposed to be related to ghost homicide, but whatever), unmask the ghost (ruh-roh rhaggy!), find evidence of who is behind everything, and arrest who or what is responsible. Somehow, even though you're an amateur private detective from the US who doesn't have arrest powers even back in the States.
While we're on it, the descriptions in this game are really weak and this thing does not hold your hand. You need to read the room descriptions in the tourist pamphlet (the feelies are out there, just Google it) to get any sense of what everything looks like. Additionally, the game doesn't tell you what you need to do. YOU HAVE TO READ THE LETTERS or you'll be screwed.
Anyhoo, ghosts and mysteries, yay!!!
