Space 1889 ROM

Space 1889 is a steampunk themed game in the (RPG) Role playing game genre. The premise of the game is the  colonization of the planet mars in the late 1800s by the Great colonial powers of that time. The English, French, Russians Japanese and even the Americans are represented. 
Travel is possible by space vehicles called aether ships; (powered by the Edison aether propeller) which can travel to Mars Venus and the Moon in a matter of days or weeks. In the atmosphere of Mars you will navigate using airships that levitate via a miraculous wood called Liftwood. This makes Liftwood one of the most valuable assets in the 1889 universe.
Like most RPGs a GM WiLL moderate the game, assigning missions and setting obstacles in your way. You may be accosted by a variety of antagonist, including air pirates, Martian Highlanders and enemy nations mostly Germans. but that does not preclude other competing nations.
Most of the technology will be period appropriate, or technology from classic literature of the time Jules Verne Sir Arthur Conan Doyle H.G. Wells etc.
