It contributes to have a whole different experience with the game, because it's becomes unusually difficult to properly handle Knuckles: He retains his ability to glide, and to grapple on the surface of walls, but he doesn't jumps as high as Sonic or Tails, neither he accelerates as much as both of them.
Other than that, is the same lovable game as the original, with some new special passages and hidden powerups.
