This is by far the king of all arcade coin op soccer games in history !!! A true pioneer !! Released in January 1986 (though the title says 1985) by Japanese programmer Michishito Ishizuka, Tehkan World Cup defined a whole generation. Your view is panoramic, you always play as red and your aim is to win all seven opponents (international teams without names) in order to win the World Cup and become World Champion! The most common way to score goals is by dribbling the opponents one by one and shot diagonally (or straight on), just like Maradona in 80's and Messi nowadays! :) Another common way of goalscoring is with an overhead shot or a bicycle-kick after a low cross. The really great thing when you score a goal is the smash of the net !! You have to score as many goals as you can because your defence and your goalkeeper are not great helpers :( Games 4 and 6 are the most difficult ones in the whole tournament, so it is important to score first. After the final game, in case you win, you can listen to a classic, traditional song called "Jerusalem" while watching your winning team lifting the trophy. You can then enter your initials of your name and see all your scores of the 7 games that you won. Are you ready to become a World Champion ??? !!!
