A volleyball game for 1 or 2 players. Controls are analogue directional, analogue attack lever, selector and a single button. Directional: Controls the currently active player(s). Shot lever: Controls the timing and power of the attack shot/serve. Selector: Selects style of play/attacking strategy. Button: Performs blocking. Your selected team plays a tournament of 6 matches these matches are played against a pool of 8 teams. During play you control some of your team: Serve: The ball is thrown up and you use your attack control to hit it at the right moment. Blockers: At the net when the other team is attacking. These can be moved left or right and the button used to make them attempt a block. The first touch: Receives the ball from the opponent and passes it to the setter or bumps for an attack. You must be under or very close to the ball when it comes down. The player designated will be highlighted by flashing arrows. The attack: The attack is performed by using the attack lever. Timing must be good in order to get a good shot in and defeat the opposition. Watch for the flashing arrows. You do not control the designated setter. Gameplay is quite simple but the control system is strange and quite awkward if you play with a gamepad. An analogue controller isn't really essential but helps. The hardest part for me was getting the receiving player in place when an attack came from the opposition. Especially if I had just attempting a block and the designated player had changed from blockers to receiving player. The game is fun to play though, and as you advance through the tournament the games get tougher. It has plenty of replay value and is a nice way to kill some time with something different.
