Azalta is a 1996 Role playing game. The graphics are simple and remind strongly of the old ULTIMA IV and V times, in case you played those games. Yet, it is way easier to understand and in my opinion also easier/fairer to the player. It's played by Dosbox and you start out by naming your party via the DOS starting command: i.g. "Azalta Killers" Your party has 4 members and you can freely decide which kind of Race and Class your members should be. The game's "Doc" folder contains a description. Basically one may say that stronger classes and races need more XP to level up. A human jester (the weakest race and class) will level up double as fast throughout the game as an elfish Ninja/Shaman (the strongest race and class). Every level up results in a quite impressive gain in the 3 main attributes (strength, dexterity, intelligence) HP and Mana. Every char in the game can learn the "ways of magic", although spellcaster can do it from level one on, while numbnuts will need to gain several levels before they can become a magic user. Every spell can be learned by any class and there are 64 different spells. The most essential spells are heal, remove poison and bird's eye, which gives you a huge overview of the surrounding area, which is absolutely necessary in the vast world of Azalta. You start out the quest to stop the Cult of the Raven from the small town of Haana and you should first visit the capital of Deshiim which is south east of Haana to gain gold, equipment and xp and learn the 3 essential spells i mentioned above, so you can travel further through the Lands of Azalta. I give this game a 5 out of 5 even if the graphics are way out of art. Via Dosbox you can play it in the office, or while chatting or whatever you like doing next to it. It has everything an old RPG fellow desires: Level up, loot, proceed in the story. I would be grateful, if I found any other Azalta players and we could maybe do a walk-through together. Good game, good luck and have fun!
