Genre: StrategyEducationalTwisted is an early example of a video boardgame / minigame collection. As the title indicates, Twisted is presented as a game show with a cast of goofball characters. There are even occasional "commercial breaks" with (mercifully brief) parody advertisements. Clips from these "ads" are used in some of the minigames, so it pays to become familiar with them. Most of the "actors" portraying the game's characters seem to have been pulled from the development team, so don't expect any familiar faces. There are 2 different types of challenges: action/puzzle minigames, and trivia questions in various categories. The trivia questions also come in multiple difficulty levels so players of different ages can have a level playing field. The game is alternating multiplayer. The obvious downside of this is that there is no direct head-to-head action competition, the plus side is the game can be played by passing around a single controller if you don't have enough controllers for everyone. Although the minigames lack the action of a Mario Party and the trivia lacks the snark of YDKJ, the complete package is overall a very entertaining party game to play with your friends.
