"Mord an Bord" is a german text adventure. The story is a little bit like a novel written by Agatha Christie: In the golden era of transatlantic passenger shipping, on board of a ship a murder has happened. You are also a passenger and the detective. Now, your role is to find the murderer by searching for evidents, asking the right questions to the right personal, holding litterally spoken eyes and ears open (you remember the text adventures). The specialty was on the one hand the concentration of a completely closed game location, the ship, and on the other hand a wonderful made "box" , remembering a little a colorful drawn LP case with a printed and drawed map of the ship and all details signed in. The Commodore Version I owner was on a Floppy Disk. The game was entirely a german product: language, authors, programmers, distributor - more or less everything in german or from Germany (That was for me an argument to buy the game -really: not for chauvinistic reasons, I'm one of the biggest fans of the USA on this planet:There was a problem I could'nt solve: I really liked text adventures. But in 1986, I was a 12 year old german boy, was teached as second language the french one and just started to learn Latin as a third language At that time, I knew perhaps 100 words of the english language, e.g. "Press Play on tape" or "ROM Frog needs a fly" ;-) I remember the game as a difficult one, but I was a very proud owner of a self bought game I understood - at least the language. If you get the chance to buy it, do so.
