Out on the edge of the universe are five particular stars. One of them, Future Star, is run by a massive supercomputer that protects the others and assures perfect harmony. However, this supercomputer gets infected with a mysterious virus after a creepy cloud rolls in, turning it into the evil Brain. Apparently not a fan of nature, Brain sends out beams of light to the other stars, transforming everything into robots and machines! Who will stop Brain and save the beloved charubum? In this version of the game you play as Max, a colleague of Bomberman who has a competitive streak with the ever popular "Blue Bomber." You both hear the distress signal asking to help save the critters on the various stars known as charubum. You as Max challenge Bomberman to see who can save them first. Who will be the hero that saves the precious charubum, and possibly stop Brain along the way? There's only one way to find out: get out of that comfy chair of yours at base, hop into your Bomber Craft, and get to work!
