Popful Mail is a sidescrolling action/rpg that plays very similarly to the Wonderboy series. You take control of bounty hunter Popful Mail who is after the evil mage mcmuffin or something like that. it doesn't matter really, the story is cutesy and silly. what does matter is the excellent gameplay and fun boss battles you will encounter while playing this masterpiece. You don't actually level up, but you can buy more powerful equipment to help make things a bit easier. The voice acting is cheesy as expected for the time period, but in this case it fits the game well and isn't terrible. The save system is great. you can hard save, or get a password if you like. however, the save will bring you back to the beginning of the level when you load up your game, so don't expect to jump right back where you left off when you quit for the day. Anyway, get it now. It's a great time and well worth a playthrough.
