Rating: 4.8/5
Released in 1991 by the developer Randomhouse This game is simply the board game Shogi. There are two different modes. One is simply a wooden board with Shogi pieces to move around. Nothing special, but functional. The other mode changes the graphics to resemble an RPG. Monsters are now the pieces on the board. Slimes, Golems, Harpies, and more. While the gameplay is still the same, this added flare helps make the game more memorable. And similar to Battle Chess, in this mode, the pieces animate when they attack, making the game feel more fun.
