Makai Hakkenden Shada is based on Japanese novel series Nansou Satomi Hakkenden, ("Eight Dog Chronicles") about eight half-brother samurai who are all descended from the same dog. (An example you might understand would be Inuyasha) This game looks and feels very much like (and was no doubt inspired by) Y's even having a similar battle system. Whereas the books had all the brothers in lead character roles, the game only features one brother with the others occasionally appearing as supporting characters. This game is fairly easy to pick up and play and is for its time very well put together. I recommend this game to fans of the RPG genre, looking for something retro that feels new. -TGDGD
