Grand Prix - Riverbank Software - Apple II This is a racing game in cockpit view. It's similar in look to an older game called night driver in that your view of the "road" is road markers that snake and curve into the distance. It has 5 circuits in increasing order of difficulty, and 6 levels of difficulty. (skid) Riverbank GP Oulton Park Warwick Farm Karskoga Monaco Being an early racing game, it's a time trial and there are no other cars on the road. There is no car selection, and the car is a 5 speed with a top speed of "205MPH". Like a lot of earlier Apple II games, the game is joystick/paddles only, before developers realised that a lot of people did not have joysticks/paddles. Joystick x-axis / Paddle 0 - SteeringJoystick / Paddle Button 0 - Accelerate q - toggle road / crash noisesm - toggle engine noise Gears have 3 states selected by two keys. Full auto with auto braking and :-space - toggle auto with accelerator hold.enter - toggle manual gears (auto braking) Manual gears are selectable by releasing and re-pressing button 0 at a gear boundary. (both up and down) Still reasonably difficult and quite addictive though.
