GunGriffon 2 is little more than a graphical improvement over GunGriffon 1 with different missions. If you do not know what Gungriffon is, it is an arcade Japanese-style mecha game with a realistic theme. There are a few notable features of Gungriffon 2. The game has a 2-player mode and apparently has Saturn NetLink support. I couldn't test this functionality, but it is something that set the Saturn apart in Japan later in its woefully short lifespan. GunGriffon 2's main features to set it apart from GunGriffon 1 are the addition of select-able "wingmates". You can get a helicopter buddy or a HIGH-MAC buddy whom can specialize in cannons, MG, ATGM, or "RP". Missions restrict the wing-men you can select and as far as I can tell, you can have only one. For your own HIGH-MAC you can select a specialization (i think) but since I can't read Japanese, I have no idea what this does. Your turning rates are also reduced and smoothed over in Gg2. There is also an endless "Survival" mode, which is neat since you can select and play any vehicle in the game. Overall Gungriffon 2 is just as worthwhile to play as the original if you're itching for some sliding mecha action.
