Genre: AdventureRole-PlayingEvolution 2: Far-Off Promise is a dungeon crawler blended with a JRPG. Anyone who likes Roguelikes and JRPGs will be right at home. The game follows the story of Mag Launcher, Linear Cannon, and several other characters as they explore various dungeons looking for treasure. The combat system is positional, based on rows. Players and monsters in the front rows recieve a boost to damage both dealt and recieved. Players in the back row recieve a reduction to both. There are also many abilities that move units around, or target based on rows. The art style is typical of the Dreamcast, very similar to Skies of Arcadia. Its 3D has held up much better than any Playstation games from its time period, and also many third party Nintendo games, due to its distinct stylization On the whole, there is not too much special about it when compared to other games in its genres. It's not a great game, and not a bad one. It's just normal.
