This "game" is actually a bundle of the first two R-Type games (R-Type and R-Type II). These games are essentially your standard space shoot-em-up, but sideways (your ship, and the rest of the action, move HORIZONTALLY, unlike most vertically-scrolling shooters)... the two main differences are that in R-Type, you are guaranteed to die many times, and that you have the "Force."  You'll die almost every level, unless you're very lucky, because there's only one by which to survive many of the larger enemy encounters.  this means that the game comes down to playing, and losing, a level until you learn how to beat it.  it can be very frustrating at times, but winning is that much more rewarding. The other major difference is the "Force," which is a big orange ball that you can attatch to the front or back of your ship, or send out on its own, that will augment your weapons systems more and more with each upgrade.  however, its most important attribute is its indestructability: the Force cannot be destroyed, and it therefore makes the side of your ship it is on invulnerable to most attacks.  because R-Type uses a one-hit one-kill system, the Force becomes an invaluable addition to your arsenal, even without the awesome weapons it brings into the picture.   All in all, R-Type is a difficult but intuitive shooter that everyone should play if they get the chance.
