Bit Generations - Soundvoyager is a sound collecting game developed by Skip as part of Nintendo's bit Generation series (later renamed Art Style for WiiWare and DSiWare in the west). What I mean by "sound collecting" is that the game is musical but isn't a typical music or rhythm game. Instead the player is guided by a sound that either comes from the left or right speaker (playing with headphones is highly recommended). The player can only move left or right in the main voyage levels and needs to locate the sound and collect it. Each sound the player collects is a musical track and each track is combined with the next one which builds up the music, and once the song is complete the stage is over. There are also stages in which the player can move in all directions and needs to locate a moving sound in a square field. Visuals are meaningless in the game. It's the only commercial video game I know of that can be played by a blind person just as well as one with perfect vision, if not better. ----It's a fascinating concept that is mostly done very well, and the music is also very good. The stages in which the player needs to track a moving sound in a field are tough and can easily frustrate. But if you only look at the main voyage stages, Soundvoyager is an excellent chill out game.
