Arch Rivals is a action oriented sports title originally released for the arcades in 1989 and ported to the Sega Genesis in 1992 by Acclaim. At heart Arch Rivals is a simple two-on-two basketball game for either one or two players. Select one of eight characters and hit the basketball court for some serious action. Punch, lunge, and don't worry; there are no fouls in this court. You can always steal the ball, but why do that when a good punch to the chops does the same thing? What sets this game apart from other simple basketball games is the player control and the violence. First, you select a player. During the match you do not select the CPU controlled player, rather you press there are no fouls, so pretty much anything goes. Punches to the face and body checks are common and mandatory if you want to win, and you want to win, don't you?
