Radical Dreamers is a side-story to the Chrono Trigger universe, and inspired the proceeding game, Chrono Cross. It stars Kid (a spryly young girl who gets by on thieving and adventuring), Serge (a young man who joined ranks with Kid despite his reservations on some of Kid's antics), and Magil (a mysterious and stoic mage known as "Magil of the Shadows" who has been with Kid longer than Serge). The three adventurers are infiltrating the perilous and infamous Viper Manor in order to steal the Frozen Flame from Lynx, the count of the manor. Gameplay unfolds much like an interactive novel written from the perspective of Serge. There are very few, but beautiful, visuals and all actions that the player can make (including character movement) are represented by text. Serge's narration is truly enchanting as it weaves the story, and dialogue reveals much about each character's personality. The music and sound is, once again, composed by Yasunori Mitsuda and accompanies each situation wonderfully. True to the Chrono universe, there are several endings which all depend on decisions you make during the game. This game is a must for any Chrono fan!
