Final Fantasy Mystic Quest is a spin-off in the Final Fantasy series. The game have been 'simplified'; many of the series staples (random battles, parties, save points) have been removed. The story has been criticized for the lack of depth. The game is basically a 'beginner's Final Fantasy'.
