Dodonpachi Daioujou Tamashii is a re-release of Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou on the PGM 2 hardware. It has a new Easy mode, and the game's difficulty also defaults to easy. This makes the first two stages significantly easier. However, the game's difficulty will rise back to it's usual punishing level by stage 3 if the player scores well and uses hypers without bombing.
